Boobies for Sale!

Here are "boobies" for sale! I'm not joking. These are real casts of boobs! Lots of the competetors got a cast of their breast for "Make a Breast" foundation that helps give awareness to breast cancer. They take the cast and then have an artist turn it into a art peice. It is pretty awesome after you get used to it. They had an auction at the end of the event and sold these peices for $300 to $1600. Kassia's boobies did have the highest bid and the cutest art. It is the yellow and red one.

This is Kassia, Jen Smith, Crystal and me. This was at the auction. Kassia and Crystal were bidding, but didn't bid high enough for the peices they wanted....I had such a good time with them all. They are great surfers and they really encourage and support me. I learned so much by watching their surfing and trying to put it into my surfing.

Jen smith and boobies shot- This is Jen's boobies. They got a $800 bid or something like that!

My Heat with Roxy Jam Winner Jen Smith.

Here I am with Jen Smith right before our heat. She was 2nd in the world. I took out my Noa Surftech board for this heat because the waves were small and clean. My Noa can catch the waves easy and I can get on the nose for a long time because it is bigger than my Uncle Ben's. They both work great and better in different conditions. Thank you to Uncle Donald Takayama and Surftech for sponsoring me this great board!

All-You-Can-Eat French Lunch.

This is when you first come into the competetors tent. They served lunch everyday! They had great food and alot to select from. There were 6 sandwiches to choose from, pototoes, bbq chicken wings (that had a little FEATHERS on the tips!), pasta and salad! Here is Crystal in line. They also had a server everyday!

The Roxy Jam Contest Area

This is shot from the top of the 230 stairs that we had to go up and down everyday! The contest site was so big, you couldn't take one shot of the whole area. This was the judges stand, a HUGE art tent that was about 60 feet by 100 feet long, and about 5 20'by 20' tents that had kids art and roxy products in. To the left is the competetors tent and about 4 40'x 40' tents for the media. There was so much media there. You get interviewed by all kinds of people from different countries. It was amazing.

Roxy Competitor Area

Here is a shot of the competetors tent. It was about 40 feet by 40 feet. They had wood floors too. This area was for our surfboards. We could keep them here overnight too so we didnt' have to walk up and down the 230 stairs to the street!

Here is the other side of the tent where they had a big flat screen tv for us to watch the heats as they filmed. And right beside it was a small tv for the posting of the scores. It was so nice to have this area to rest in.

My New Uncle Ben Aipa Longboard

This is me when I went out for my first heat against the French girls. I took my new Ben Aipa shaped board. I got to work with Uncle Ben to make this board. He spent so much time with me to try and teach me about rails, rocker, and all the details that go into making a board. I have a lot to learn here! My board works so good! Thanks Uncle Ben!

ANd thank you to my new surfboard sponsor!!! Uncle Steve at HIC (Hawaiian Island Creations). I have a Steve Morgan being glassed now from HIC! I also got an Eric Arakawa shortboard that works so good too! Uncle Eric and my dad were roommates in the North Shore when my dad used to surf professionally.

Back from France

Well I just got back from France last night at about 8:00pm (Hawaii time). The flight was really long but I did get a really good sleep! And about the trip to Spain.... we actually didn't go because we missed the train to get there by like 15 min. It was such a bummer but next time! Well I got to go but I will talk to you later!

Roxy Jam over. Off to Spain.

Congras to Jennifer Smith for winning the Women's Long Board World Title! She surfed her final heat really well and played it really smart! In the third round I lost to Jen it was a really tough heat. But I am sooooooo happy that she won this year! This contest put on by Roxy was an amazing event! It was great to know how much Roxy cares for women's long boarding. We actually got some really good waves for the contest and were really blessed with that.

Well today I am going to get on a train and go to Spain with a whole bunch of girls from the contest. It is going to be really fun and when I get back I will send pictures from the contest and from Spain. Well talk to you soon and have a great day!

A Day in France

My Daily Journal....

6:30- I had a really early start this morning both my mom and I woke up at 6:30. We got dressed and went out to find a bite to eat, but I guess French people aren't morning people cause ever single store was closed a 7:00am. So we went back to the hotel and they were serving bread, bread, and more bread for the hotel guest. There were actually cheeses to go with the bread and some orange juice and fruits but the French really like their bread.

10:30- So then I headed down to the beach. The waves were like 2 feet really light on shore winds but it was still pretty fun!

12:00- After surfing my mom and I went to the market not to far from our hotel to get some groceries. It was really fun shopping in a foreign groceries store! There was tons of cheese and breads (of course ) and it was really cheap.

12:45- Right down the block from the market there was a little cafe type store that we ordered some lunch. We ordered Pesto noodles! It was alright but my mom really enjoyed it! We went back to the hotel and my mom tossed up a salad, cut up some cheese and bread and we had our lunch.

1:30- After that big lunch I was really tired so I jumped into bed closed the curtains and took a really long nap.

4:00- After all that sleeping I finally woke up! The waves were looking a little different because of the tide change so I though it would be a good idea to get a feel of the high tide. A few of the girls were out there like Joy, Crystal, Jen, and Miku. The waves were not too bad but the wind was howling on shore and really sloppy.

7:00- Now I am just heading out the door to get some dinner with my mom. So I will check in later. Have a great evening!

We arrived in Biarritz, France

My mom and I arrived in Biarritz about 3 hours ago and it has been a really long trip here. We had a 5 hour flight from Hawaii to LA... a 6 hour layover in LA... jumped back on the plane to Paris that took 10 hours... and then had another 5 hour lay over in Paris... got back on the plane for another 1 1/2 to Biarritz. And now I just got out of the water from a fast little session with Kassia. The waves are really bad! It is like 2 feet and howling on shore winds. But other then that the town is beautiful and we are having a great time.
